How We Find Design Inspiration with Faith Goals

How We Find Design Inspiration with Faith Goals

If you’ve been stuck in a rut and don't know how to get started or inspired for the new year, we’ve got news for you. You are not alone. Here at Kia + Kyle, we choose faith over fear and we want you to know that getting inspired in your personal leisure time is possible. Our journey has not always been easy and like you, we’ve hit a few stumbling blocks along the way. Here are three personal tips that have helped us along the way.

Explore Your Community

I’m originally from a small town in Apple Valley, California. Every time I visit home, I get inspiration by connecting with childhood friends and family members. It’s the small town memories that really inspire us to build a legacy. Our families are rooted in tradition and culture, so we constantly draw inspiration from the stories our loved ones passed down to us. As you embark on your inspiration goals this year, we encourage you to explore your city or town by connecting with loved ones, shopping, or visiting a historical landmark. Always keep a journal with you to write or draw the ideas that come to your mind. You’ll be amazed at your artistry and what catches your eye.

Mood Board Your Concepts

Create a mood board and bring your vision to life. Play with textures, patterns, and colors. Enjoy this process and have fun! Creating mood boards allows us to collect thoughts, ideas, color schemes and moods in one place and define a coherent design concept without risk of losing sight of the bigger picture. For Kyle and I, visual concepts are a constant source of inspiration, the huge motivators that make us feel empowered about our custom patterns and designs.

Challenge Yourself

Create a personal design goal for yourself. Ask yourself what do you want to achieve for the new year and set your intentions high. Make your goal fun and rewarding at the end so you can continue to stay motivated. No matter the destination, the lesson today reflects back to simplicity and getting started with your own ideas. You feel more fulfilled and more gratitude working on yourself whether than owning someone’s else’s idea. Authenticity is in our blood and it’s what we live by each day which is why we’ve coined the line “designed by faith.” Without faith nothing is possible, with faith nothing is impossible.
